Once we get into a relationship with pain, the game changes; it gets a lot easier.

What also helps, is to realise that ‘pain’ is sometimes a scary word we use, or symbol, or a signpost, to point at something that's uncomfortable within us. That uncomfortableness within us is simply a denser frequency, or energy, moving through our bodies, other than what we would be comfortable with normally.

So really, pain is just a frequency, moving through our system. We're talking about emotional pain here. Emotional pain is just a frequency, running through our body; an energy running through our body, that we're not comfortable with.

With practice and surrender, openness, gentleness, and welcoming, this pain loses it's scary power, the power of: “I don't want pain; I need to avoid it”. We can then allow these energies to move through us; and that allowing of these energies to move through us, the welcoming of them, means there is an allowance for them to leave us.

So, instead of having this thing that is actually trapped within us, permanently there, vibrating in the background, giving us a very, low-level background pain and uncomfortableness, this thing trapped in our body has the opportunity to leave and not come back. So, short term intenseness removes a very long term, low vibration, intenseness.

The rewards, if this is done (allowed) repeatedly, over long periods of time, and with the help of a spiritual teacher, (which is even better, if you have that availability), is life-changing. Because as these low-level vibrations in the background of our nervous system leave, one at a time, there are less, and less of them.

They are vibrations and things that are detracting from our happiness, our comfort, our peace, and our living. This changes our world, and the world of everybody around us. This is the path, this is the fast path to freedom.

There is no faster path than this. It takes courage, commitment, and practice, and sometimes guidance.

In the early stage, guidance is very helpful, because it's a difficult practice. The energies move through us. We become them, we identify with them, and look at them, and they become us. They steal our consciousness in that moment.

It takes a little bit of practice to stop this happening and catch this as it arises. That's the practice of a meditator or someone that's very mindful.

They are all ongoing practices because these things sneak up on us, and in their darker hours, they are very hard to see. And the darker and heavier these frequencies, the harder it is to stay open and surrendered.

This is just how it is.
